Project Authentic Self

I hate low self-esteem. Don’t you? I had it for so long, believing I wasn’t good enough, thinking I was ugly, horrible, terrible, no one liked me, it was my fault– good lord that list can go on and on. I learned that those ideas were lies. They were not based on the truth! I had decided those things as a kid and continued to believe them, never testing their authenticity. Well, I’m 28 now and it’s about time I test all things and make sure I’m not just letting anything into my mind.

I learned how to get rid of my low self-esteem by letting go of the lies and telling myself the truth. Having done that for some 7 years, I’ve finally realized that I’m AWESOME, amazing, good, wonderful, etc. I could go on and on, my value of self is so much higher! :P
I decided to take action and fight against the lies that MOST people believe about themselves. It’s not just me, it’s the American society! So I asked for volunteers, people who would want to fight their self-esteem.

Luisa, Briana, and Whitny were the ones who wanted to challenge the negative beliefs they have of themselves. They listed those things that they believed of themselves, the negative, and replaced it with the truth! And how their self-esteem rose!

The glint in her eyes twinkled. Her smile was full. Her heart warm. Her life secure. She felt the weight of many trials years before lifted off her shoulders. Her journey had been difficult. her journey had been successful! And now, a year later, she stands, a success story waiting to shared.

That is my passion. To help women.

I want to celebrate their passions.
I want to destroy their negative self image.
I want to capture their victory.
I want to show them their beauty, their fierceness, their joy.

A peek at Venice Beach, CA

I shot a portrait session at Venice Beach, CA, because I had seen through someone’s pictures, all these amazing graffiti walls! Now, I know it’s not cool to deface property but these walls were made for the graffiti… either that or people made the walls for the graffiti!

While walking around shooting my portrait session, I snuck in a few shots of the surrounding area. It was soooo much fun to see all the different cultures, people, faces, activities. It was wild and crowded and full of life! One could get lost down there. :)
