Miss Meli

The glint in her eyes twinkled. Her smile was full. Her heart warm. Her life secure. She felt the weight of many trials years before lifted off her shoulders. Her journey had been difficult. her journey had been successful! And now, a year later, she stands, a success story waiting to shared.

That is my passion. To help women.

I want to celebrate their passions.
I want to destroy their negative self image.
I want to capture their victory.
I want to show them their beauty, their fierceness, their joy.

That’s what I did with Meli.

here are the faves! :)

A peek at Venice Beach, CA

I shot a portrait session at Venice Beach, CA, because I had seen through someone’s pictures, all these amazing graffiti walls! Now, I know it’s not cool to deface property but these walls were made for the graffiti… either that or people made the walls for the graffiti!

While walking around shooting my portrait session, I snuck in a few shots of the surrounding area. It was soooo much fun to see all the different cultures, people, faces, activities. It was wild and crowded and full of life! One could get lost down there. :)

Here are some of the faves!

Inspired.

It’s been awhile hasn’t it. It’s been a rough couple of months. I think I just needed to focus on certain things in my life and not focus so much on photography. I think when the balance within settles, the balance in all areas of life settles as well.

I was talking to a friend and we talked photography. I told her that maybe I should start taking pictures just for the sake of inspiration. I don’t have to have a goal or a need to show ppl what I can do or advertise, etc. I want to take pictures for the sake of taking pictures. I haven’t done that — EVER! I did that in the beginning but then the pressures of a new business got in the way.

What if I just took pictures cuz something looked cool? What if I just took a picture because it inspired me? What if I took a picture because it made me think about life? What if I just took a picture for the sake of taking pictures? I think I would find my passion again. :) I would find my drive, my hope, my spark.

I wish it were light out still, I would go take me some pictures. But it’s dark now… Maybe I can find things around the house to shoot? maybe…………
